Sketchbook: Detritus

I sometimes wish I had the answers to the boundless questions life likes to throw at us. It is in that very thought that I also find solace in knowing that with each question that presents there are numerous problems just waiting to be solved. Solving problems visually is, in and of itself, a guiding force behind the work that I do in my sketchbooks. A constant search for that next solve, clue, answer. My preference to draw what I observe in everyday life is a focused and deliberate decision that I make every time I pick up my book. The banal events of my subjects are captured in these turbulent, and at times, manic strokes of a pen that immortalize the moment and stop time if only briefly.
