This is cover work I just did for Bay Area Alternative Press's quarterly publication Pressing Times. It has to do with who is in control of the media. David Fuller was the AD for the piece and a pleasure to work with. I went through a few sketching stages before we settled on a piece that would work as an all encompassing cover idea. At first this was to be an interior but I was informed later that they wanted to use it as a cover and I was honored to say the least. I plan on moving forward with the ideas of the bottom two since I really like where I was going with those, but for now I'm very pleased with my final product. As always though, there is much room for improvement. Cheers everyone.

I love it. This is probably my favorite thing you've ever done. It's beautifully done, great storytelling, and striking from a distance. Good work!

wow, uncle sam has never looked so menacing. i'm quickly falling in love with this style. it's got a cool tight-looseness to it.

Congrats Eli,

nice work glad to see your getting some editorial work . thanks for dropping those AD names in your posts. They'll definitely be getting a postcard from me.

By the way really sorry to hear about your friend. My heart goes out to you and his family.

Lovely stuff! I'll confess that it took me a minute to process the equation "Uncle Sam = government" rather than, say, the nebulous spirit of the nation, but I suppose he started out as a propaganda figure in the first place so it does make sense. Let's put that down to me being English.

The whitewashing motif works great, and I love your hardworking little painter dudes. They're surprisingly sympathetic for government stooges. :-)

Love the integration of the newspaper into the image, too. I imagine Kazu would approve!

Your work always leaves my jaw open. I'm very happy to hear you got the cover. It is definitely one of those pieces that leaves me thinking. Hats off to you for that ingenious solution.

Love your work and your drive. I'm trying to land small gigs here and there but nothing compared to you.
